Blushing For Circulation

The characters: Dr. Faulkner and patient

The action takes place in the office of Dr. Faulkner, it is a generic therapy room.

Dr. Faulkner: Hello Ana, I am John, Dr. John Faulkner (they shake hands), I will be your therapist this afternoon. (he sits) Before we start I will just give you a few instructions and pointers which will help to make this a more enjoyable and effective session. Over the next 15 minutes we will work on bringing radiance, glow and naiveté into your face through some simple, non invasive and easy steps. I have assessed your questionnaire and I have developed a series of complimentary sentences that will make you blush.

The main thing is not to prevent or avoid blushing.

Feel free to smile, flare your nostrils, close your eyes, bite your lip but try not to laugh. You want to allow the blood flow to circulate through your facials muscles, not contract and squeeze them. The blood vessels in the face are wider and we want to flush your cheeks and chin and lips, get the energy to move easily, the idea is to try to pump and circulate it but not disperse it. Do you have any questions or concerns?

I would also suggest you try and just relax and absorb what I am saying, don’t question it, accept it.

I will let you prepare, make yourself comfortable, I will give you a moment to relax, lie down, there is a robe if you wish to put on.

I will knock in a couple of minutes and then we can start!
